Comments: With the Annexation of Texas by the US in the 1840s, was there a time that there were two El Pasos? It would seem that theey were, as artificiao as it may seem. One part of the town, north of the Rio Grande or Rio Bravo was now part of the US and apparently retained the name of El Paso, while the other part of the town, south of the river was officially known as Paso del Norte, eventuaololy renamed Cuidad Juarez after the Mexican President of that name. I invite any clarification of this.
